Shanny was most recently an Investment Manager at Vericap Finance Limited as well as Director of Seagull Technology Pty Ltd. She has more than 20 years experience in the Biotechnology industry sector and is a past Director of the National Organisation for AusBiotech Ltd as well as Chair and Founder of BIOCOM. As Entrepreneur in Residence at The University of Sydney she assisted in start-up ventures for medical devices. Shanny has also been General Manager / Scientific Director of AVAX Australia Pty Ltd, a company involved in the development and marketing of cancer vaccines, a member of the Executive group for the Medical Device Network and the National Health & Medical Research Council (NH&MRC) Development

After completing postdoctoral training at Sydney University as the inaugural Medical Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow (1988-91), Don established patch-clamp electrophysiology laboratories at St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of Technology, Sydney. He has published more than 80 scientific papers, a book published by Springer, and is an author on 4 patents. In 2008 he was awarded a Chaire d’Excellence in nanosciences by the French government and is appointed as a Professor at the Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble. In 2008 the Irish government invited Don as an international evaluator for a new industry-led nanotechnology initiative. From 2003-2008 he was invited to speak on nanobiotechnology at The Biotechnology Industry Organisation (BIO) annual conferences. Don is an Executive Board Member of the Australian French Association for Science and Technology (AFAS NSW) and his contributions to science and technology are recognised formally in the Hansard records of the NSW Parliament.






Dr Unger was the founder and first CEO of Vision Group Holdings Limited, which listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2004. His model backed by Private Equity (AMP Capital) in 2001consolidated Ophthalmology in Australia. From its formation in 2001 he steered the company through to the IPO led by UBS as Chief Executive Officer until October 2007. During his 20-year career as an Ophthalmologist with special interest in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, he formulated the concept and business model for Vision Group. He is a past Chairman of the Victorian Branch of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a past Federal Councillor. His concept, for a non-invasive method of targeted drug delivery, has been enhanced and expanded by Don Martin, Shanny Dyer and Mark Unger.






Mark completed a Bachelor of Laws degree in Australia and obtained a post graduate Master of Laws Degree (majoring in corporate finance) from Duke University in North Carolina, USA. Mark has undergone further training in Geneva, Switzerland where he worked at the United Nations as an N.G.O and also obtained a certificate in Transnational Law at the Duke – Geneva institute in Transnational Law. Mark has worked as a solicitor for a leading law firm in the areas of corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and banking and finance.






Arthur has more than 20 years experience in the industry, in regulatory affairs and in medical devices, diagnostics and biomaterials development and evaluation. He was previously Director of Medical Devices Registrations and Approvals at the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration. He is currently managing Director of Brandwood Biomedical, a specialist advisory firm supporting product development and regulatory compliance in global markets. Arthur is both a biologist and materials engineer and is visiting Professor of Biomedical Engineering at University of Sydney. He has specialist expertise in biocompatibility and is Australian delegation leader to ISO in the fields of biological evaluation of medical devices and implants. Arthur also represents the Australian industry association Ausbiotech in consultations with TGA. He has widespread network in international regulatory agencies and has trained regulators in several Asian jurisdictions including Singapore and Indonesia.

David Bull B.Sc. (Computing & Electronics) & M.Sc. (researching adaptive speech coding in telephony), leads the BCS team and has more than 20 years experience in electronics. BCS has clients that include Cochlear, Medtronic, Polartechnics, Electrolux and Tyco. It has won the coveted Australian Design Award of the Year in 2003 for developing the Betacheck G5 Blood Glucose Meter as well as creating award winning telecommunication products. David is a signatory for eight patents in the area of medical electronics and is a sought after lecturer in specialty areas of technology development.

Craig Andrews B.A (Product Design) and MFA (Design) heads a multi-disciplinary design firm that serves to support all aspects of the development process. Prior to creating his own business, Craig spent 10 years as Senior Designer and Manager of Product Development with an international design consultancy firm in the USA. Craig was involved in the development of ‘Abicore’, the world’s first totally artificial heart and his experience has won numerous design awards and patents. Past clients have included Cochlear, Boston Scientific, Bard Medical, Iomega, Abiomed, Smith + Nephew, JBL, Sunbeam USA and Portland Orthopaedics.
